Thousands of migrants are attempting to cross the U.S. Southern border in Yuma, Arizona, according to multiple reports.
Many of the individuals are claiming to seek asylum, as the “Remain in Mexico” policy formed under the Trump administration resumes operation.
“Just talked with Yuma Co. Sheriff Wilmot. He says this morning it looks like probably 4000 in custody waiting to be processed by @CBPalready and 600 along levee by river waiting to get picked up. Yuma is being compared to the crisis we saw in Del Rio in September,” tweeted journalist Ali Bradley.

Bradley also detailed that the Yuma County Sheriff estimates that more than 1,000 people have entered the state illegally in the past few days.
Officials at the border have consistently remained busy.
Recently, Border Patrol agents in the Yuma Sector collected drugs and $10,000 in cash from a suspect who attempted to escape law enforcement.
Nationwide, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has apprehended more than 1.7 million migrants during the fiscal year, a number that continued to rise.
Elected leaders across the state have repeatedly called for action from the Biden administration.
“As our office has said for months, the situation at the Arizona border is no longer a crisis; it is a catastrophe. Our law enforcement officials are being overwhelmed by the number of migrants illegally crossing the border, and the cartels are taking advantage of these surges,” said Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, responding to the video posted by Bradley.
“The Biden Admin doesn’t want you to see these photos. Unlike VP Harris and DHS Sec. Mayorkas, I’ve been to the border many times and I can attest first-hand that there is a CRISIS at our border,” added Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (R-AZ-08).
